Italian cyclist Giunti suspended for doping (AP) 13 hours 26 minutes agoItalian cyclist Massimo Giunti has been provisionally suspended after testing positive for the banned blood boosting hormone EPO. The International Cycling Union said Wednesday that Giunti returned a positive test in an out-of-competition urine sample he gave two weeks ago. Olympic gold medalist Lionel Cox dies (AP) 21 hours 56 minutes agoAustralian Olympic cycling gold medalist Lionel Cox has died of pneumonia, the Australian Olympic Committee said. He was 80. Cox won a gold medal with Russell Mockridge in the 2,000-meter tandem event and silver in the 1,000-meter sprint at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. Lars Boom of the Netherlands won the Paris-Nice prologue Sunday ahead of German rider Jens Voigt and Levi Leipheimer of the United States. Two-time Tour de France winner Alberto Contador finished fourth in the 8-kilometer time-trial featuring a third-category climb.
