Love this Bike! July 29, 2010 H. Anderson (Los Angeles, CA) My MIL bought this toy for our daughter after I had done a lot of research on different bikes to find one to purchase for our 18 month old. We love this toy. For now it sits in our living room in the rocker mode. The design is very easy to change from rocker to bike. We take her on walks all the time and it only took her a couple seconds to understand to keep her feet on the pedistal provided. Right now she can reach the pedals but not well enough to turn them on her own. I guess by the time she is 2 she will be able to pedal on her own (Note: she has very long legs for her age). My husband spent about 20 min. on assembly, but some of that time was due to our daughter trying to "help" daddy. All in all I am very glad we chose this bike for our daughter as it will work for her for the next couple of years.
One of the best purchases I've made for the kids July 9, 2010 Lori M. Powell (Escondido, CA United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Let me start by saying that we have owned this trike for over four years. I have 3 kids ages 5, 7 and 9. They still ride this trike after four years! They started using it as a rocker for a short time, and quickly moved to the push trike setup. It has gotten so much use and abuse over the years. Now, even the 7 and 9 year old still like to play with it. (Technically, they are both probably too big for it, but they are still able to pedal with their knees bent out a bit.)
br /I don't write reviews too often, but I felt compelled to write about such a great purchase. How often do we spend money on toys for our kids that break or rarely get played with, or they outgrow them before they get much use? (More times than I would care to think about for us!)
br /On a side note, if your child is young and/or too short to reach the pedals, you should consider trying this toy again in a few months. There were probably times when, at certain ages, my kids didn't use this often. But the great thing about it is that it really does grow with your child. They have found new ways to play with it more times than I can count.
Not good for pedaling... July 6, 2010 C. Chang (San Jose,CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We've had this trike for over a year now and it's not used anymore. In fact, we just purchased the Schwinn Easy-Steer Trike from [...].
br /Pros:
br /- the rocking mode is nice to have. Our son used it indoors and it was fun for him for a while
br /- for pushing this trike works ok when your child has no desire to pedal/cannot reach the pedals. The footrests work well
br /
br /Cons:
br /- With the seat forward as much as possible our son could not reach the pedals back when he was 2.5 yrs old. At 3.5 yrs old he can reach the pedals better but the low quality plastic wheels don't grip the pavement very well and it's hard for him to pedal.
br /- Push handle with no steering means the handle can be a pain when your child wants to steer the trike elsewhere. At times I would 'wheelie' the trike so that the front wheel is off the ground so that we could go in the intended direction and not into a parked car :).
br /
br /I gave this trike 2 stars because it's fairly useless for us when our son wants to pedal the trike. I'm sure other children can pedal this thing just fine though.
Ridiculously fun for a ridiculously long time! June 18, 2010 etacb (Melrose, MA United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Incredibly durable plastic. We used the rocker feature when our kids were toddlers, then they learned to pedal around the finished basement, and the thing now has a seemingly endless third life as a "big wheel" type of thing. My three boys, now ages 8 (twins) and 9, STILL each use one of these to race kamikazi-style down our driveway, with the garage as finish line. I cannot believe they even all still fit on them, but every spring when I try to sneak the trikes out of the garage to give them away, the next thing I know, my boys are on them again, riding like maniacs. I don't know if I love this toy or hate it! But I will say we've gotten our money's worth!
Nice starter tricycle April 21, 2010 Irish Texan 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase. I love being able to push the toy when needed. I am, however, a little disappointed that the seat and/or pedals do not adjust for my child's shorter legs. The seat moves forward and backward, but it does not move far enough up for my son to keep his feet on the pedals. My son still loves the toy though. I also wish there was a way to lock the handle bars in a straight position, so the toy would be easier to push (without a rider to steer) when we're out somewhere and my son decides he wants to walk. We haven't had this toy for very long yet, but it seems quite durable and easy to clean. I would recommend this toy.
